Prof. Zelenin Konstantin
CELLO
Konstantin Zelenin was born 1983 in Minsk, Belarus and started his musical education at the age of 5 at the “Lyceum” of the Belarussian Conservatory. In 2005 he began his studies at the “Moscow State Conservatory”, where he graduated “with Honour“ in 2007 as a student of Prof. N. Shakhovskaya. Additionally, he later finished his studies at the “Belarussian Academy of Music” under the supervision of Prof. V. Perlin and started teaching at the Academy as well as at the national music school as an assistant of Prof. V. Perlin. 2009 Konstantin Zelenin started to study at the Vienna Conservatory, where he successfully finished his Master studies “with Honour“ under the supervision of Prof. N. Gutman in 2015.
Konstantin Zelenin was repeatedly nominated for the “Presidential Fellowship of the Republic of Belarus To Support The Talented Youth”.He won the „Grand Prix“ by “Arts of XXI Century” Kiev, Ukraine (2002) and received multiple prizes and scholarships at national and international Cello competitions like “Grodno International Competition“ Belarus (2000), “Arts of XXI Century” Kiev, Ukraine (2002), ”E. Koka Competition” Kishinev, Moldova (2003), “M. Elsky Competition” Minsk, Belarus (2003 and 2008) ”K. Davidov Competition” Kuldiga, Latvia (2004), "Liezen Cello Competition", Liezen, Austria (2010), “Beethoven String Quartet competition”, St. Pölten, Austria (2012).
He performed as a soloist of several orchestras such as the Belarussian National Symphony Orchestra, the Belarussian National Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra Brest, Symphony orchestra Gomel, Symphony Orchestra of the Belarussian Radio and the Riga Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Konstantin Zelenin records for the Belarussian Television and Radio and Austrian Radio Ö1. He debuted in 2008 as conductor of his own chamber orchestra in Belarus.
Konstantin Zelenin teaches as a cello Professor at the Vienna Music Academy, the Amadeus International School, the J.-H. Music School and the Music School Hietzing. His six-year-old student won 2nd Prize by “Prima la Musica” competition after working 6 months together with Konstantin Zelenin.
Konstantin Zelenin played numerous concerts as a soloist and chamber musician in various countries of Europe and Asia. Together with Daniel Auner he founded in 2012 a string quartet, the “Auner Quartet”. With support of the Austrian Radio station “Radio Klassik”, the Austrian daily newspaper “Die Presse”, the “Bank Austria Unicredit” and others, this quartet started its own chamber music cycle at the Baroque concert hall of the Vienna Old City Hall. The ensemble is regularly performing for the Austrian Foreign Ministry as part of their international culture policy.
